Hennifer's Story

Every coop needs a good hen, and Hennifer might just be the best one around! If there were an award for Mother Hen of the Year, Hennifer would win it without question.

Hennifer is a spayed 3 year old female Diluted Tortoiseshell shorthaired

When Hennifer arrived at the shelter as a stray, she came in carrying a box full of surprises. Inside were her kittens and believe it or not, a baby bunny! While the bunny was transferred to a wildlife rescue for specialized care, its a perfect example of Hennifers nurturing nature.
Not long after arriving, Hennifer raised our beloved Chicken Coop litter and then went on to welcome not one but Two orphaned kittens into her nest, caring for them as if they were her own. No chick was left behind on her watch.
Now that all her babies have flown the coop, some into new homes, its finally Hennifers turn to find a forever home.

Hennifer adores other cats and kittens and would thrive in a home with a feline friend or two. Her gentle, loving personality makes her a favorite among staff. She has not yet interacted with canines, we recommend a meet and greet prior to adoption. She does well with respectable children who respect her boundaries and space.

** Like any hardworking mama, Hennifer has had a few challenges along the way. She recently had some dental work done and had a few teeth removed, so she will need a family willing to provide both wet and dry food to help keep mealtimes comfortable. Hennifer is litterbox trained and is an indoor cat only. **

After spending so much time caring for everyone else, this sweet mama is ready to be the one getting spoiled. If you are looking for a loving companion with a heart big enough for the whole barnyard, Hennifer is ready to settle into her forever coop.
