Hi, my name is Helios! <br/><br/>I’m a bright and handsome orange tabby named after the Greek god of the sun, and I’m ready to bring some warmth and light into your life! I may have once roamed the streets of Detroit, but thanks to a volunteer, I was trapped for TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return). Turns out, I had a little surprise for everyone—I’m actually a super friendly guy who loves people and pets! So instead of going back to the streets, I got a second chance at finding a loving forever home.<br/><br/>Living on the streets meant food was hard to come by, so I’m still a bit of a hungry boy. I get really excited for mealtime and may give you my best “feed me” eyes—it’s a look that’s pretty hard to resist! But now I am learning food will always be there for me!<br/><br/>While I was out there fending for myself, I also picked up FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). It might sound scary, but don’t worry—it’s not! FIV simply affects my immune system a little, but with regular vet care and a healthy lifestyle, I can live a long, happy life just like any other cat. I would do great in a home with no other animals. <br/><br/>I’m a laid-back, affectionate boy who loves pets. <br/><br/>Thanks for reading about me! I hope to meet my forever family soon! <br/><br/>FIV+ cats need love too! FIV+ cats can live just as long as non-FIV cats. If introduced properly, FIV and Non-FIV cats can live happy and healthy lives together. The virus is very frail and can only live outside the body for a few seconds, and requires serious physical interaction, like deep bite wounds.
