Heart (bonded with Hunter)'s Story

**NOTE: All AVA kittens under 12 months of age MUST be adopted in pairs or to a home with another young cat. AVA does not accept applications for single kittens**

Heart is a sweet girl who is actively working on her courage. Her foster mother calls her Little Braveheart. Heart is bonded with colony brother Hunter and they have to be adopted together. They are great companions for each other, playmates, wrestling partners, and partners in crime.

These two are currently untouchables. They have grown to be happy in close proximity to their foster, including right beside or at her feet, but dash away if any petting or touching is suggested. They are thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining to have around for someone who doesnt have the desire or need for a lap cat or cuddle cat.

In her foster home, Heart is getting over her food insecurity with dry food available all the time in addition to the wet food at meal times. She does well with the slow feeder bowl. Raised bowls are important for Heart to prevent regurgitation from her gobbling.

You will have to make sure all food, even that which you suspect cats wouldnt be interested in, is properly put away. She and Hunter have been known to eat some people food they shouldnt have, including right through the packaging.

This food focus also means she may be very trainable for someone interested in taking the time. Hearts foster mom has used treats to help her overcome her fear of humans. Shes now very interested in anything being unwrapped! Shell take treats, especially unseasoned chicken or egg bits gently out of her hand. Churus and Delectables are big hits!

Heart has impeccable litter box habits.

Heart loves to play! Either alone or with Hunter, she loves a game of soccer with cat toys like springs and mousies, and really enjoys the trackballs turntable too. Even though she instigates them as often as he does, Heart needs a high spot to escape to so as to let Hunter know when shes done with a wrestling match.

With time, love and treats, Heart can be your little sweetheart.

Would you like to make Heart and Hunter a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form..

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, first-round of age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption, flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $275 for each kitten up to 12 months old. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.

All AVA kittens 12 months or younger must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another young cat (3 years or younger). Kittens learn from each other how to behave, which helps them turn into well-adjusted adult cats. In general, paired cats have happier and healthier lives because they have a constant companion and playmate. Plus, its twice the fun for you, and half the work!
