Hank 's Story

Meet Hank.

This sweet man has had a really rough life and deserves the best of the best!

Hank lived with a cat friend and his owner. The cat friend passed away and then so did his owner. The neighbors fed him for about a month before deciding they were going to take him to a shelter.

2 Good Samaritans intervened and decided to foster him until they could find a solution. Within a couple of months, Hank suddenly went blind. His retinas had fully detached causing him to go permanently blind.

His blindness was caused by sudden high blood pressure, which is now controlled. He has mild kidney disease which likely, along with stress, caused his high blood pressure to begin with.

The vets say it is a mild case and no treatment is needed for his kidney disease. Just bloodwork more often than the usual cat as to keep an eye on it.

When we tell you this cat is resilient, we mean he is SO STRONG! He does fabulous with mental mapping his surroundings and loves to explore and just be near humans.

He is gentle and sweet. He has the cutest, raspiest meow and will greet you when you talk to him. He purrs often and just wants love and affection.

His age is unknown, but the vets say he is an adult but likely not quite a senior yet.

Hank deserves a loving home where someone will be understanding and compassionate to his needs. Now that he is blind, cats tend to not be so nice to the gentle giant. So we prefer a quiet home for Hank, with no young children or other pets. Just so he feels safe while not being able to see what’s going on in the world or defend himself.

If you’d like more information on Hank or would like to apply for his adoption, you can do so here:

https://www.abdanimalrescueleague.org/ads/feline-adoption-application/
