Habanero's Story

Habanero is our reformed former "king of spice." He promises he's put his attitude in his past and really just wants all the love now. (I mean most of his attitude, a dude has to have some personality amirite?) This guy is approximately 4 years old and is ready to spend the rest of it keeping you thoroughly entertained. He loves coming up to his cage and showing off his chubby cheeks and affectionate side. Habanero will come right up the front demanding your presence so he can show you how awesome he is. He is pretty awesome though, so we can't argue. Come down to MAR to meet this cool cat today! Adopting from Morris Animal Refuge When you adopt an animal, you’re not only saving their life—you’re also making room for the next animal in need. At Morris Animal Refuge, we approach the adoption process holistically, working to create the best match for both our adopters and our animals. How to Adopt We do not take appointments—adoptions are first come, first served! To adopt, visit us at either our shelter (1242 Lombard St.) or our PetSmart Adoption Center (2360 Oregon Ave.) during the hours listed below. Most animals can go home the same day once your adoption is approved. 1242 Lombard St. Shelter Hours Tuesday & Saturday: 12–5 PM Wednesday & Friday: 12–7 PM 2360 Oregon Ave. PetSmart Adoption Center Hours* Wednesday, Friday–Sunday: 12–3 PM Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 6–8:30 PM *Please note: this location is staffed by volunteers, so hours may occasionally vary. Adoption Fees Kittens: $150 (or $200 for a bonded pair) Adult Cats (6+ months): $80 (or $100 for a bonded pair) Puppies: $500 Small Dogs (<25 lbs): $350 Large Dogs: $100 Other Animals: Email us at adopt@morrisanimalrefuge.org All Morris animals are: Spayed/neutered Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations Treated for fleas and most intestinal parasites Microchipped Cared for with love until they find their forever home We recommend scheduling a post-adoption check-up with your veterinarian to establish care.
