GYPSY & Foo Foo's Story
WANTED: A Human with Patience and Snacks
Meet Gypsy, a two-year-old Tortoiseshell who is 5% mystery, 5% sass, and 90% "Where is my momma?"

Gypsy is currently attached at the hip to her mother, Foo Foo, but she’s ready to expand her social circle to include you (and ideally, your couch). She’s not "anti-social"—she’s just "exclusive." Once you pass her rigorous background check, she warms up faster than a Corvette!
Model: Tortoiseshell (stunning mottled paint job included).

Age: 2 years (past the "climbing your curtains" phase).

Personality: Shy at first, professional cuddler later.

Social Life: Great with other cats and surprisingly fond of tiny humans (children).

Maintenance: Low. Just give her love, food, and the occasional nod of approval.

If you’re looking for a low-drama, high-reward companion who comes with a built-in best friend (Foo Foo), Gypsy is your girl.

If you’re interested in meeting GYPSY & Foo Foo please email SOS at saveourstrays.pgh@gmail.com or call/text (412) 863-0064 to arrange your visit.
During your visit, feel free to spend time with the cat you want to meet, but also take a look around. We always have cats with a wide variety of ages, coat patterns/lengths, and personalities. High energy antics? You bet. Couch potatoes? Check. Sweet, purring snugglers? Roger that. And please don’t overlook the shy wallflower who keeps glancing your way—introverts need love too. Often times, a cat is simply overwhelmed with their new rescue
environment and will blossom in a calmer home environment. Spend some time with our cats, watch them interact with each other and with you, and get their “vibe.” You’ll know the right cat—sometimes you choose and sometimes they choose you.

Are you tired of filling out the long applications? Did no one get back to you? If they did, was the cat was already adopted? We do things the way we want to here at Save Our Strays. I was told no to adopting a cat before, from a very big rescue for a foolish reason. I know how you feel and all the BS some of those applications ask. We are all adults; I will tell you all my same spiel I tell everyone else, if you adopt from us. Do not declaw your cat, if the cat is sick- have enough money to take them to the vet. If you ever need me, call me. We talk to you and ask questions ourselves and we know the cats well. If we think it is not going to work out, we will let you know. Everyone who is able and willing, deserves the companionship of a cat. It's an art that we have purfected here!

Since 2020, SOS has rescued and adopted more than 1,000 stray cats in the Pittsburgh area. Included in our adoption fee is full vetting. All of our cats are dewormed, have received Capstar for any flea issues and Selamectin for any parasites, received two FVRCP vaccines as well as their rabies vaccine, are treated for ear mites (if needed), are combo tested for FeLV and FIV, and are microchipped which will transfer to you. Once the adult cats are fully vetted and vaccinated, they freely roam across two floors and (Pittsburgh weather permitting…) also spend time in an outside Catio to soak up the sunshine.
We also have a free-roaming room for the fully vetted kittens to play, run, and practice their fancy acrobatics and sideways kitten shuffles.

SOS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our adoption fee, along with donations, allow us to tend to our rescued cats in the manner in which they deserve: fully vetted and fully cared for. We also allocate funds to continue TNR (trap, neuter, and release) efforts for all of the strays who are too unsocialized and human-adverse for an indoor home. By spaying/neutering, these
cats live a healthier life and no longer contribute to increasing the stray cat population.

When you adopt a cat from SOS, you’re doing more than giving a cat a good home. You’re also helping those stray cats who cannot be homed. One cat’s adoption improves multiple cats’ lives.

About SOSs Founder: Faon traps, rescues, and gives shelter to the SOS cats; they reside on the upper two floors of her home which have been modified to best meet the cats’ needs. She is extremely knowledgeable about each cat in her care and is happy to assist you finding the one who best matches your lifestyle and your home. She, along with a small team of dedicated women volunteers, work with SOS cats who have been rescued from a wide range of outside scenarios (some being outright deplorable) and transform them through veterinary care, socialization and behavioral work, and a whole lot of love into happy, healthy, and thriving cats.

Email SOS at saveourstrays.pgh@gmail.com or call/text (412) 863-0064 to arrange your visit.

Your new best friend is waiting for you
