Gwennie's Story
Meet Gwennie Gwennie is a beautiful black-and-white young adult with a soft spirit and a brave little heart. She was found living behind a bowling alley, left to fend for herself much too young. Her rough start has made her extremely shy and cautious around people, but she is slowly learning that humans can be kind and that she is safe.Gwennie is very shy, and she isnt the type of kitty who will walk up asking for pets or immediately seek out attention. She prefers to hang back and quietly observe from a safe spot while she gets to know you. But once you get down on her level, crouch on the floor, and gently reach out your hand, she will allow you to pet her. She just needs someone willing to meet her where she is and let her take things at her own pace. One of the best ways to see Gwennies personality come alive is through interactive play. Wand toys and other playful activities bring out a confidence in her that you might not see at first. Once she gets into play mode, she becomes more engaged, curious, and comfortableand its one of her favorite ways to connect with her person. Interactive play is definitely Gwennies love language! There is something incredibly sweet about earning Gwennies trust. She may not show you her affection right away, but those quiet moments when she relaxes and accepts your pets are very special. She is a gentle girl who simply needs time to discover that she can feel safe and loved.Gwennie is looking for a patient and dedicated adopter who will give her one-on-one attention and continue helping her build confidence. She would do best with someone who has experience with shy or fearful cats and understands that earning her trust will take time and consistency. A friendly, confident resident cat may also help Gwennie feel more secure and give her a positive example to follow. Special Trait: Gwennie has the tiniest, most helpless-sounding little meowlike the worlds smallest damsel in distress. Its absolutely adorable and makes you want to scoop her up and reassure her that everything is okay.Gwennie may take a little longer than other kitties to open her heart, but for the person willing to be patient and earn her trust, she will be a truly special little companion. We provide all initial wellness care, including vaccines, deworming, checking for mites etc., for each kitten and cat under our care. All cats and kittens available for adoption have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, combo tested and given a rabies vaccine. Our adoption fees also cover lifetime microchip registration. To apply to adopt, please visit our website www.fcocinc.org and click "Adopt" under the cat you're interested in.
