Grimace's Story

Are you looking to make a meaningful difference in the life of a deserving kitty? Are you an experienced cat parent who loves to see kitties with a rough start end up landing in a loving forever home where they finally can begin to experience what it's like to be loved? Do you have a heart for the underdog... or in this case, the undercat? If you answered yes to those questions, then we have the perfect, sweet boy for you! This fun-filled house panther, is the fantastic, Grimace. This beautiful boy has an estimated birthdate of 2/28/23, making him about 3 years young. Sweet Grimace has been living outside of a McDonalds restaurant since he was just about a year old. We don't know how he got there, but life has not been easy for him during that time. He managed to survive thanks to a nice man who came and fed him everyday, but he lacked shelter, and he was vulnerable to attacks from wildlife and other cats. You may see by his appearance, that he has several shaved areas. This is due to the bite wounds that he sustained prior to being rescued. We typically do not have the funds to test all kitties for FeLv/FIV, but due to his wounds, we decided to test him, and thankfully he is negative for both. Grimace has become a big favorite of the staff and volunteers. This guy has a VOICE! He will hold full on conversations with you, and he talks up a storm when he knows that he is getting canned food. He goes crazy over that, and has asked us to put in a good word for him t ensure that he will continue to receive that in his forever home. Since he hasn't had the benefit of a traditional introduction to people, he is still learning to interact with people, but he's doing a fantastic job! He absolutely loves to get head and back pets. He gets a little over-stimulated at times as he isn't always sure how to handle that kind of love, but he is getting better day by day, and getting lots of exposure to people who treat him with patience and kindness. From the moment that you start petting him, his purr motor and voice fire right up and both stay running pretty much non-stop. He absolutely loves affection and attention and simply wants to be with his people. Since Grimace is still learning how to "cat nicely", there is a chance that he may bat/claw or nip if he doesn't like something. This is not a regular occurrence at all, but something that we want to disclose as it's a possibility with ANY cat, especially one who is newer to being handled and exposed to people. Grimace is a wonderful boy with a fun personality, who just needs to be in a home where he's given love, patience, space when he wants it, and lots of enrichment. Big G is a busy boy and likes to be involved in whatever his people are doing. If you're reading, then he wants to be beside you. If you're taking a nap, he would probably like to be with you then too. He's a social butterfly who enjoys his people time, and he makes no apologies for that! He loves climbing his kitty tower, cat tree, and looking out at the birds, plus he is wonderful about using his carpeted and cardboard scratchers as well. He's also a champion litterbox user and hasn't had one single out of box incident. Since coming to us, Grimace has met other kitties and he does well with them. In fact this good boy roams free in our kitty corner room, and he's friends with everyone! He is a guy who loves a nice, peaceful house, where he can cohabitate peacefully with other kitties. He would also be a perfect solo kitty if you only have room for one fabulous feline! He hasn't met dogs since coming to us, but we think that he would be fine as long as the dog gives him space and is generally cat-friendly. Grimace has met older kids since coming to us, and that's probably best for him so that they can be taught to read cues. Younger children wouldn't be a great fit for him since they are so fast moving and unpredictable. Grimace has done so well, and become such a loving boy since coming to us, and we think that he will continue to blossom, and will absolutely flourish in his forever home. Would you like to meet the wonderful Grimace and give him the loving forever home that he so deserves? If so, please complete an application and we will call you to schedule a meet and greet once you're approved.

West Jefferson, Ohio
#hsmcohio

A Petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application.
