Greta's Story

Greta is proof that sometimes the toughest-looking cats have the softest hearts.

At just 2 years old, Greta has already experienced more change than most cats ever should. After spending time in another shelter, then finding herself in an overcrowded rescue situation, she eventually made her way here in search of the stable, loving home she deserves.

Life hasn't always been easy on Greta. She arrived with severe stomatitis that required extensive dental care, and she's still healing and learning that people can be trusted to take care of her. The stress of everything she's been through has left its mark, but every day we see more of the sweet young cat hiding beneath her tough-girl reputation.

One of Greta's favorite things is being brushed, and she'll happily soak up gentle attention from people she trusts. She also has a playful side that she tries to keep secret. Volunteers have caught her batting a ball around her kennel when she thinks no one is watching.

Greta may not be the cat who immediately demands attention from every passerby, but she's the kind of cat who rewards patience with genuine affection. She deserves a family willing to look past the hardships written on her face and see the young cat underneath.
