Gracie Mae C65424's Story

My name is Gracie Mae. I was an owner surrender from Duluth. I came to the rescue due to medical concerns under the hospice program but have graduated and looking for my forever quiet home.

From her foster: Gracie is a resilient hospice program graduate who's ready for a cozy, loving home of her own. She may be a little reserved when meeting new people, but beneath that quiet exterior is a sweet, affectionate girl just waiting to feel safe and settled.

She's not a fan of being picked up, but Gracie absolutely loves affection on her own terms. When she's ready for pets, she'll politely (and sometimes not-so-subtly) "command" your attention-and you'll see her rubbing her head on your hand and flopping on the carpet. Her favorite time of day is in the evening, when things quiet down. The second you sit on the couch, she'll come RUNNING over to curl up in your lap!

Gracie spends her days living the cozy life: napping on soft blankets, watching birds and squirrels from the window, and conserving energy for her nightly zoomies. When you get home, she'll greet you and head straight to the kitchen for dinner. Later, she'll show off her playful side-chasing wand toys or small felt balls and proudly "howling" when she catches them.

She thrives on a simple routine. She currently free-feeds on dry food and enjoys wet food in the morning and evening. Gracie takes her medication well (if needed) when it's mixed into her food, though she may need a little encouragement to finish it-she'll do best with someone patient and attentive.

Gracie would likely do well in a home with another cat, and she may also be okay with a calm, gentle dog (though she hasn't been tested with dogs yet). A peaceful environment where she can settle in at her own pace will help her thrive.

From the Vet:
Gracie Mae came to us with unmanaged liver values and has spent a few months with her dedicated Hospice foster home. Through their consistent routine Gracie Mae's liver values are no longer needing medication management; She has responded beautifully and is looking for a hero to help her stay on track. Her daily regimen includes Welactin (a high-potency omega-3 supplement) and Gabapentin to keep her comfortable and relaxed. She also receives a monthly Solensia injection for senior cats that targets osteoarthritis pain.
Dietary Needs:
To support her liver and kidney health, Gracie Mae thrives on a moisture-dense wet food diet. While doing fine currently she could also benefit from an "early-stage" renal support diet to keep her internal systems running smoothly.
Gracie Mae is a resilient, quiet companion who doesn't let her "maintenance" requirements slow down her affection. If you have a soft spot for seniors and a knack for easy routine-keeping, Gracie Mae is waiting to thank you with a lifetime of purrs.
Dental Care:
Gracie Mae recently got a dental cleaning and as a senior gal, TBB recommends annual follow up with a primary care vet regarding future dental care and or surgeries for cleaning and extractions as needed.
