Gracie's Story

Meet Gracie — a gentle soul learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. Gracie is a very shy, under-socialized kitty who didn’t get the early experiences that help cats feel confident around people. Because of that, new environments and unfamiliar faces can feel overwhelming for her. What she needs most is a calm, patient home with someone who understands that trust takes time—and that the most meaningful bonds are often the ones built slowly.

In her foster home, we are already seeing beautiful progress. With plenty of treats, a consistent routine, and lots of quiet encouragement, Gracie is beginning to let her guard down. Each small step—staying a little closer, relaxing a bit more, showing curiosity instead of fear—is a huge victory. She is learning to trust, and it’s incredibly rewarding to watch.

Gracie will thrive in a home that’s willing to meet her where she is and celebrate those little milestones along the way. She may not be the kind of cat who runs up for attention right away, but given time, patience, and love, she has all the potential to blossom into a deeply devoted companion. Cats like Gracie often form the strongest, most special bonds with their people—the kind built on understanding and earned trust.

If you have a quiet home, a kind heart, and the patience to let Gracie come out of her shell at her own pace, you could be the person who changes her life. And in return, you’ll get to witness something truly special: a scared little cat growing into a confident, loving friend.

Gracie is a 7-month-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This cat's adoption fee is $200 and includes vaccinations, microchip, spay, and FeLV/FIV test. We would love for you to meet this cat and see if she might be a good fit for your home.

The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals.

We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!)

Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed.

Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).

For additional questions regarding meeting this cat please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772, or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to a high volume of inquiries, calls and voicemails regarding adoption will not be returned.

Thank you for choosing adoption!
