Goose is a sweet boy who is looking for a patient person willing to give him the time he needs to feel safe again. He lived indoors for about a year with a caretaker and was described as friendly with the adults in the home. He enjoyed sitting on laps and being petted, and he also lived with several other cats and was described as friendly, playful, and cuddly with them.<br/><br/>Shelter life has been a big adjustment for Goose, and he has been very frightened here. He spends much of his time hiding and has struggled with all the changes around him. We believe he may simply need time, quiet, and consistency to decompress and begin showing the sweet personality his previous caretaker knew.<br/><br/>Goose may be happiest in a barn-cat or more independent setting, but an experienced adopter who wants to give him a chance at indoor life could also be a good fit. If placed indoors, we recommend starting him in a quiet, single room with everything he needs-food, water, litter box, hiding spaces, and comfortable resting areas-and allowing him to gradually become comfortable at his own pace. His adopter should be prepared for the possibility that he may remain a shy or less-social cat.<br/><br/>Goose has lived successfully with other cats and may enjoy having feline companionship again. A slow introduction and initial separation would be important to help everyone adjust comfortably.
