Gomez 's Story

Meet Gomez!

At just over a year old, Gomez is an incredibly sweet, affectionate boy who’s quickly embraced the VIP life!

He came into our care back in November after doing his best to survive the streets of West Columbus— unneutered, unvaccinated and unprotected. But it was clear right away that he was meant for so much more.

Gomez is as friendly as they come. He absolutely loves attention and thrives on being around people. Whether it’s soaking up pets or simply being near you, he’s happiest when he’s part of the action. And if there’s one thing Gomez loves just as much as attention, it’s food—he has a big appetite and isn’t shy about it!

Since being rescued, Gomez has really settled into indoor life and it suits him perfectly. He’s comfortable, content, and clearly grateful for the safety and care he now has.

Gomez is fully vetted—neutered, fully vaccinated (rabies, FVRCP with booster, FeLV with booster), microchipped, fecal tested negative, and on monthly flea/tick prevention. He has tested FIV positive but is FeLV and heartworm negative. Gomez is young and very healthy. FIV is most commonly spread through deep bite wounds. Given his gentle, easygoing nature, he is at very low to no risk of transmitting it. He can safely live with other cats, including those who are FIV negative and he requires no special care beyond what you would provide any cat. Cats with FIV can and do live long, healthy lives.

Gomez now has a second chance at the life he’s always deserved and he’s ready to find a family to call his own. If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate companion with a big personality (and an even bigger appetite), Gomez could be your guy!

If you’re interested in meeting Gomez, please send us a message or fill out an adoption application.
