GLINDA's Story
After 11 Years, Glinda Is Looking for Her First Home
DLH Calico FIV+ Indoor Only

Some cats spend their lives searching for a place to belong. Glinda found a place—but she's still waiting for a family.

Glinda is believed to have spent her entire life in the same quiet neighborhood. She was trapped, spayed, and microchipped in 2017, and for nearly the past 10 years has lived in the backyard of one special home. As families came and went over the years, one thing never changed—every family who rented the home cared for Glinda as if she were their own. They made sure she was fed, brushed, loved, and always had a safe place to call home.

Now, at 11 years old, Glinda is ready for something she's never had before...

A family of her very own.

Glinda is the kind of cat who makes herself at home in your heart almost immediately. She adores people and happily leans into every head scratch and brushing session. Before long, she'll curl up beside you—or even better, right in your lap—for a cozy nap. Her sweet, trusting nature is a beautiful reflection of all the kindness she's experienced throughout her life.

She's also playful and enjoys batting around toy mice, scratching on her favorite scratching pad, and is perfectly litter box trained. Nail trims? No problem...especially when treats are involved!

Recently, the current resident became concerned about Glinda's health and brought her to the veterinarian, where her microchip reunited her with the rescuer who had trapped, spayed, and microchipped her nearly a decade ago. Thanks to that full-circle moment, Glinda received a comprehensive veterinary evaluation, including bloodwork, urinalysis, FeLV/FIV testing, and a full wellness exam. She is in excellent health, fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and ready to begin her next chapter.

Glinda is FIV positive, which simply means her veterinarian recommends an indoor-only home where she can safely enjoy many happy years ahead. Having spent her life in a peaceful backyard, Glinda will likely thrive in a calm, patient home where she can settle into indoor life at her own pace. She would be happiest as the only pet, where she can be the queen of her castle and soak up all the love for herself.

If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate companion to share quiet mornings, sunny windows, cozy evenings, and endless companionship, Glinda may be the perfect match.

Ready to meet Glinda? Please submit an adoption application. If your application is a good match for Glinda and meets our adoption criteria, we'll be delighted to contact you to arrange a meet-and-greet. We can't wait to introduce you to this very special girl!
