Gleam's Story

*Please note Gleam is residing in foster care and will be brought to the Lounge for approved applicants! Gleam and her friends was originally found by another rescue up in Lancaster when she was just a few weeks old. Our rescue took the whole gang in when she only about 3 months old and boy, she was so sweet and spunky even as a baby! Gleam is now about 8 months ago and has been living with our Executive Director. Gleam is truly a special girl! She loves to play with toys - she'll carry them around from one room to another - and chase her cat friends. She'd thrive in a home with another younger cat that she can be best buds with. Her foster also has 2 huskies that Gleam has no issue with (as long as they're not all up in her face). In addition to her playful nature, she is a huge cuddle bug. Every night she climbs under the covers to snuggle with her foster, followers her around the house and rubs against her legs, and is a huge purr monster! Gleam has been with us for the last several months through her medical journey. When we originally transferred her in, we began treating her for an ear infection and upon examination, our veterinarian noticed she had a polyp in her ear. Gleam underwent a mild procedure to have it removed, but during the procedure, our veterinarian found a second polyp deep in the ear canal that she was not able to reach. We were able to connect with another veterinarian who successfully removed that inner ear polyp and after a few months of rechecks, we were able to finally clear Gleam for adoption! Though this polyp did not grow back, kitties with a history of polyps do have a propensity to get them in the future so we want to ensure her future home understands that she may need care in the future.
