Gladys Whiskerbean 55056's Story
Meet Gladys Whiskerbean!

Gladys is a 2-year-old striped brownish-grey tabby with beautiful markings, both stripes and spots! The markings on her head makes it look like she's Egyptian - they are so cool. She came to us with her 5 babies this summer from one of our rescue partners, having been part of a large colony in another county. It's clear that she had to fight for food in her past, and to protect her little ones, and as such, she is not fond of other kitties. So, she needs a home where she's the only feline. We don't know how she feels about dogs as we haven't observed her around any or children either.

Gladys is currently in a wonderful foster home where she has a whole family to spend time with. She is getting lots of affection including getting to sleep with them! She purrs when you pet her, especially around her head and neck. She even likes her tail stroked! And of course, base of the tail butt scratches!

Gladys has found her playful side in foster care (poor thing was too busy trying to survive before that to learn how to play) and the joys of catnip! She loves to chase her tail, especially in bed. Don't worry, it's usually just before she settles in to sleep and on occasion throughout the day. It's so cute! She doesn't like being picked up-but that's not unusual; most of kitties don't like being picked up. She isn't a lap sitter yet, but we're sure that will come. If you're sitting around relaxing, she will lay quietly next to you on the floor close by. She's a TV watcher! It's so funny. She will watch intently for a long period of time, especially if it's pretty much at eye level to her.

Gladys really likes to be near her people and only sneaks away for her afternoon naps. She has discovered that beds are pretty nice! She's a very quiet kitty, only meows when she sees her foster mom coming with her canned food! But, she's very polite and won't wake you up early to be fed! She works with your schedule!

Gladys loves to look out the windows and might try to get outside if you're not careful, as her beginnings were outside before she was rescued. She is a very sweet kitty but will need a chance to warm up to her person! Please, someone, give her that chance! She deserves it! Email adoptions@savedbyzade.com today!
