Gilbert's Story

Looking for a loyal little “shadow” to follow you from room to room—at a very leisurely, senior pace? Meet Gilbert, a handsome orange boy with a heart as warm as his coat and a delightfully slow-and-steady approach to life. At 10 years young, he has truly mastered the art of the low-energy lifestyle. His biggest workout of the day? Using a polite paw to guide your hand exactly where he wants more scratches.

Because Gilbert is a little hard of hearing, he comes with two bonus perks: he’s unfazed by loud noises, and he has the most charming “old man” meow that he happily uses to find his favorite human, because all he really wants in life is to be close to his people.

Gilbert is also a resilient soul. He was found in a colony already neutered and friendly, and we suspect he was once a beloved house cat who ended up there through no fault of his own. After his time on the streets, he needed a little extra care (including some dental work) to help him recover from his adventures. As a result, Gilbert now has no teeth, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit; he’ll happily eat whatever you offer, even dry kibble.

Now that he’s received his extra TLC, he’s more than ready to get back to exactly where he belongs, curled up on a warm lap in a loving home.

This sweet, easygoing boy would do well with calm dogs, other cats, or kids who understand that he prefers cozy naps over high-speed adventures.

Bonus if you need some more Gilbert!
