Meet Gilbert! <br/><br/>This sweet boy is living his best life right now — playful, affectionate, and totally unbothered by the fact that he's got a little extra going on with his heart. Gilbert was recently diagnosed with a heart condition (hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy) during a routine vet visit. He's not on any medication and shows no symptoms day-to-day, but his condition is considered serious, so we're looking for an adopter who's comfortable with regular check-ins with a cardiologist and a little extra attentiveness at home.<br/><br/>Gilbert was also born with a deformity in one of his front legs. He loves to jump to get to the comfiest places to nap. It doesn't cause him any pain and doesn't slow him down one bit - he gets around just fine, and no amputation is medically indicated.<br/><br/>In exchange for a little extra care, you get a genuinely great cat who deserves every bit of love and comfort a home can offer — heart (and paw!) and all. If you've got the patience for vet visits and the love for a cat who has a lot of good days ahead of him, Gilbert would love to meet you. <br/><br/>Gilbert is FeLV/FIV negative, up to date with vaccinations, flea treated, neutered and microchipped. His birthday is estimated to be 1/1/2025.
