Gidget's Story

Meet Gidget!

Gidget, affectionately called Mama or Mama-Seeta, is a petite, quiet, sweet girl with a big personality hiding behind her shy nature. She can be startled by sudden movements, so she thrives in a calm, gentle home where she can build trust at her own pace.
Once she feels comfortable, Mama is incredibly loving. She nuzzles your legs, purrs, enjoys being petted and gently held, and when she feels like it, she follows her people around the house. She makes eye contact and comes with the most adorable little chirping sounds and has the cutest bursts of playful energy. She absolutely loves string toys, kitty tunnels, soft blankets, sunny windows and, of course, her meals! She has excellent litter-box habits and has built up trust when getting nail trims. She isnt quite a lap cat yet, but with the right person, she may very well become one.
Mama is roughly between 1-3 years old and would probably be happiest as an only cat, but she can live with respectful dogs with a slow, patient introduction. She lived successfully with a cat-friendly medium-sized dog, though did not build a connection with the two other cats in foster care, as there would be occasional chasing that resulted in hissing from both parties. She has never shown aggression toward people and does not scratch or bite. As mentioned, she does get skittish if startled. In play, she will reach out with her paws but is slow and seems to know to be gentle. Gave no problems for the vet during blood draws or body inspections, just a little nervous, as to be expected.
Mama has a permanently foggy eye that does not bother her and makes her uniquely beautiful. She also has occasional nasal congestion and sneezing; her veterinarian has treated her with antibiotics, and she tested negative for any illnesses. The cause of her nasal symptoms is still unknown, so she will need a family willing to love and care for her just as she is.
If youre looking for a gentle, sweet little companion who will quietly become your shadow and reward your patience with purrs, nuzzles and love, Gidget may be your girl.

Activity:
On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being highly skilled/or of high importance to this cat.

Playfulness/toys
5- string toys & other toys

Nap Meter
5

Litter box habits
5

Interactions with Dogs
4 -great with proper intro to cat friendly dogs

Interactions with Cats
2-tolerated

Adoption fee is $200.

Please, only apply if you can give Gidget a fur-ever home.

If you are interested in adopting Gidget, you must fill out an application first. You can go to www.LAFPOGCW.org to complete one, or message us here and we will email you a copy.

You must fill out and submit an application to even be considered for a meet and greet.
