Meet Gibson, a gorgeous, smart, young house panther with a beautiful, shimmery coat, stunning chartreuse eyes and sweet disposition.<br/><br/>His rescue journey began back in early November of 2025 when he showed up at a townhouse complex, hungry and wary of his surroundings. We suspect he was either abandoned or dumped in the area. <br/><br/>After an exhaustive search to find his possible family, he was taken to the vet for his neuter, vaccines and combo-test (FIV/FeLV = negative).<br/><br/>This boy was so friendly and loving from the onset and hops right up into your lap for cuddles... while kneading his front paws. He also gives kisses on your hand and chin, if you let him. Gibson does purr but it's not loud. I'm guessing the more relaxed and confident he becomes, the volume will increase.<br/><br/>Gibson reacts strongly to the presence of other cats so I'm not sure if he is needing more time to adjust or should be the only cat (pet) at home. My sense is that he was getting bullied during his short life on the mean streets. Overall, he's highly-social and would also do best in a home where he's not left alone long hours.<br/><br/>After getting good feed-back from his foster family, we think he'll do best with someone who is an experienced cat owner and knows how to read their body language. Gibson does show some signs of anxiety (which has been notably improving) and will swat (no claws) to let you know that he wants you to stop petting him. With that said, he does sleep at the foot of the bed every night and will follow his humans into whatever room they're in. I wouldn't say he's a "lap cat" just yet but, again, there are definite improvements as he spends time with his family.
