Gertrude's Story
Gender: Female
Colour: Black and white
Date of Birth: August 30, 2025

Meet Gertrude!

This sweet girl came to us from a barn, and it took her some time to adjust to indoor living - but she has come so far. Affectionately known as Gertie (or "Birdie," according to the resident toddler), she isn't quite a lap cat, but she loves pets on her own terms and has a wonderfully playful side.

Gertrude enjoys the company of the adult cats in her foster home and would greatly benefit from having a confident feline companion in her new home.

Gertie can live with children, but she would prefer a quieter home with older kids or adults, as the noise and activity of young children can sometimes feel overwhelming. She is currently living with large dogs and is a bit nervous around them, but she could do well with a calm, respectful dog who gives her space.

Gertie loves to play--teaser wands are her absolute favourite! When she's ready to relax, you'll often find her curled up on a cat tree by the window, basking in the sun or watching the squirrels outside.

At this time, it is believed that Gertrude will need ongoing monthly B-12 injections to help maintain her health. This is a simple and manageable part of her care routine, and she otherwise continues to thrive in her foster home.

Location: Guelph, ON.
Adoption Fee: $275
To meet and adopt this cat, apply at the link below:
https://tinyurl.com/AARApplyNow
