Geronimo and Poundcake's Story

Please read through the entire posting and requirements before applying via our questionnaire at https://alleycatproject.org/adopt
Please do not submit an inquiry via Petfinder.

Meet Geronimo and Poundcake, a bonded pair of juvenile friends! They are approximately one year old.

Geronimo is a tuxedo boy who loves to follow you around watching everything you do and explore. He is intensely curious, very outgoing, and scared of nothing except the vacuum. He loves meeting new people and adventuring. His favorite things include Greenies and chew sticks (which he goes crazy playing with).

Poundcake is a short haired mottled tabby who likes to spend his time following Geronimo around and playing with everything. Poundcake has a different personality to Geronimo, often getting scared by people moving around him. However, dont let that fool you into thinking thats his whole personality, as with a bit of time you will find he loves curling up beside you and receiving pets, always giving loud purrs in response, and even enjoying the occasional cradling in his persons arms. He also cant get enough of spring toys and string toys (with supervision).

Poundcake does have a habit of trying to eat non-edible things, which his adopters should be aware of. Particularly lucrative items include cardboard and paper; however, he has also been known to chew on wood, cloth, and leather. This may be something he grows out of but in the meantime requires vigilance. Care must be put into what items are left in his space. Additionally, he is a picky eater and not having access to his preferred food can exacerbate his chewing behavior. He also plays rough sometimes, and has been known to bite extremities too hard (especially playing and biting people while they are sleeping). He responds to redirection but stopping the behavior entirely is something we are still working on.

Although these two dont come without their challenges, they are worth the work. They bring so much joy to their fosters, who enthusiastically encourage you to meet these two and see how easy it is to fall in love with them. Together, they make an extremely loving pair that will bring love, playfulness, and joy into any home.

What Geronimo and Poundcake are looking for in a home:

- They want to stay together forever and must be adopted as a pair.
- They have lots of kitten energy and will benefit from plenty of active play time.
- They feel at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- They need to live indoors only.
- They have no known history with other cats.
- They have a positive history with dogs.
- They need children to respect their space.

All Alley Cat Projects cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Alley Cat Project adoption fees are:

- $200 per cat or kitten
- $350 for pair of cats or kittens
- $50 for senior cat (over 8 years old)
- Flexible reduced fees for a cat with a chronic medical condition that requires ongoing care
- Additional charitable donations are appreciated and support our overall rescue efforts

Thank you for your interest in Geronimo and Poundcake! If your household fits the above criteria, you can apply to adopt them by filling out this questionnaire: https://alleycatproject.org/adopt

Only applicants who complete the questionnaire will be considered. Please do not submit an inquiry through Petfinder, as it will not replace the questionnaire and we will not respond.
