Georgie's Story

GEORGIE is a male-neutered short hair black cat, born about late July 2024. He was rescued with a litter of four (about two months old) and their young mother, found in a drain pipe. He (and his mother & litter-mates) were relinquished to YAPS late April 2026, because the owner no longer could afford to care for them. Per his prior owner: "He's calm, lovable, very affectionate. He's good with children and dogs, has been kept indoors only." We find him to be handsome & gentle. He's very stressed/insecure from the recent loss of his prior home, so he currently doesn't come to you for affection. But, he loves being petted in his resting place - purrs, "kneads biscuits", &/or rolls over for stomach rubs in appreciation.

The adoption fee includes spay or neuter surgery, vaccines and a microchip for dogs and cats. We do a thorough assessment of the animal’s temperament and needs so that we can find both them and you the companion of a lifetime. Our goal is to adopt out pets into permanent, loving homes. The YAPS Team is here to help you choose a pet that will fit in with your lifestyle and bring harmony to your home. YAPS does not currently offer transport for adopters outside of our surrounding area. Adopters must adopt a pet in person at our facility or adoption events.
