Named after one of Buffalo's most beloved neighborhood institutions, 🍻 Gene McCarthy ☘️ is exactly what you'd expect: a little worn around the edges, completely unpretentious, and the kind of company you didn't know you needed until he was there!<br/><br/>Street life wasn't kind to him, he arrived at CBAS looking pretty rough 🥺. But, he's put all of that behind him and has nothing but warmth to give now. He loves other cats, goes absolutely wild for catnip, and just wants to be someone's cozy, low-key companion!<br/><br/>Gene is 3–4 years old and FIV positive - but before you scroll past, here's what that actually means: FIV is transmitted only through deep bite wounds between fighting cats. For a friendly, mellow indoor cat like Gene, it's largely a non-issue. FIV+ cats live full, happy, healthy lives in the right home!<br/><br/>Gene has been with us for months.
