Gene Kelly is our professional loaf consultant with extensive experience in strategic couch occupancy and high-level napping. Originally coming to us as a stray six years ago, Gene Kelly was adopted by the family of a business, where he became a beloved workplace companion. When renovations made the environment unsafe for him, his caretakers decided to return him to us so he could begin a new chapter in a furrever home where he would continue to be well cared for and loved. <br/><br/>Now around 7-8 years old, Gene Kelly is a changed man from his earlier time with us. Once known for being a bit of a grump, he has softened with age and discovered that people are actually pretty great! These days, Gene Kelly is more love bug than tough guy. He enjoys being around people and is happiest just hanging out nearby and keeping you company. He is affectionate in his own way, offering sweet leg rubs and happily accepting pets, but he does prefer to keep all four paws on the ground and is not fond of being picked up or having his belly touched. Gene Kelly is a mellow, slow-living kind of guy who takes life at his own easy pace. He would love to settle down in a calm, adult-only home with cat-savvy adopters and to be your one and only special feline friend. With his extra cuddly figure, Gene Kelly will need adopters who will help him work toward a healthier weight through diet and gentle activity.
