Gemini - CHOW HOUND's Story

Meet Gemini, who along with her two siblings were brought to a Fix the Future event to be "fixed". They were roaming around a trailer park, sick with upper respiratory infections. The person who brought them couldn't keep them and was going to release them back into the outdoors sickly and underweight. Thankfully, a local cat rescuer took them and they made their way to Second Chance where they were treated for their infections and given all the yummy kitten food they could eat. At one point all three had been adopted into various homes.

Gemini was returned to us recently as the adopters had a cat with FIV+ and were worried about Gemini passing something to the resident cat. Gemini was put in a room by herself for a couple of months and after a vet check up indicated she needed some dental work so the adopters returned her. Gemini is a healthy kitty and has received that dental work and is ready to find her true adoptive home. The dental work required removal of all of her teeth. This doesn't impact her ability to eat and the upside is she will never need a dental!

Gemini is sweet, playful, and likes pets. She rolls around excited for more pets, belly rubs and head kisses. She also loves to run and jump and play. One of her favorite toys is the wand toy. Gemini has a distinctive look which adds to her beauty. She is mountain lion like with thick paws and tail. Gemini would do well with a single adopter, a couple or a family. Gemini may present as a little shy upon entering her new home, but in short order she will acclimate given love, pets, and play. We honestly don't know why this great little kitty has not been scooped up yet!

Gemini gets along well with other cats so could be part of a multi-cat household of playful kitties or she would do just as well by herself.

If you'd like to meet this awesome girl she can be found at Cascade Chow Hound 6787 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids.

Gemini has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Gemini has an approximate birthdate of 07/25/2025. Her adoption fee is $120.

If you are interested in meeting Gemini or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, please go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.

Thank you!
