Gelato is a gentle, sensitive girl who takes a little time to feel safe in new environments. She can be shy at first and may need some patience as she settles in, but with consistency, routine, and calm encouragement, she truly begins to blossom. Once she develops trust, Gelato is an incredibly loving and playful cat. She comes running when she hears her favorite person and immediately seeks out affection. She especially loves head rubs, back scratches, and spending quality time with the people she trusts.<br/><br/>Gelato also has a fun, playful side! She enjoys chasing ping pong balls, cat springs, and other toys, and she's a big fan of treats-so much so that she'll tap on the treat container when she's hoping for a snack. Watching her confidence grow and seeing her personality emerge is incredibly rewarding. She's very curious about other cats and may enjoy a feline companion, though she hasn't had extensive interactions yet. With thoughtful introductions, a calm and confident cat may help her feel even more secure.<br/><br/>Gelato has excellent litter box habits and would thrive in a quieter home with someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let her settle in at her own pace. With patience and understanding, Gelato has so much love to give-she just needs the right person to help her feel safe enough to share it.<br/><br/>Gelato is a 10-month-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This cat's adoption fee is $50 and includes vaccinations, microchip, spay, and FeLV/FIV test. We would love for you to meet this cat and see if she might be a good fit for your home.<br/><br/>The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals.<br/><br/>We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!)<br/><br/>Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed.<br/><br/>Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525). <br/><br/>For additional questions regarding meeting this cat please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772, or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org.
