Gato's Story

“****GATO IS FIV+ (Feline immunodeficiency virus) AND MUST BE AN ONLY CAT OR KEPT WITH OTHER FIV+ CATS*** PLEASE RESEARCH THIS AND SPEAK TO YOUR VETERINARIAN BEFORE YOU APPLY TO ADOPT.****MUST REMAIN INDOORS ONLY****

Hello, I'm Gato, a clever and independent kitten with a bit of a shy side. I enjoy the simple things in life, like a warm spot to nap, a fun toy to chase, or a quiet moment with a human friend. Don't let my shyness fool you, I am excellent with kids, and I get along great with other cats and even dogs. I'm also house trained, which means I know the rules and how to follow them. I may need a little time to get used to a new place, but once I do, I promise to be the best companion. I'm just waiting for the right family to share my love and intelligence with. Adopt me, and let's make a lifetime of memories together.

Gato is a very sweet boy who enjoys spending time in the same space as you, but doesn't like to be touched just yet. He'll happily accept treats off your hand or gnaw on your fingers if they're covered in catnip oil, though. He's also very vocal and loves routine, such as treat time before bed. If he thinks you may have forgotten, he'll be the first to let you know. If you're looking for an immediately affectionate cat, Gato isn't the one for you, but if you're willing to be patient and respect his boundaries, he'll open up in time. Some of Gato's favorite things are running amok with his brother, Churu, treats, stretching his claws out, and string toys.

Gato's date of birth is 05-10-23 and he weighs 9 pounds.

Gato and his brother Pitch are a bonded pair, so we would love for them to be adopted together. We are running a special so that you can adopt both and just pay one adoption fee of $95!

If you are interested in adopting, please submit an adoption application at https://www.fayettefcar.com/ready-to-adopt where you can also review FCAR’s adoption requirements.

Gato has been neutered, is current on all vaccines, negative Feline Leukemia (FIV+), on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, microchipped, and comes with a 30-day pet health guarantee. The adoption fee is $95 with an approved application. A home inspection is required prior to all cat adoptions.”
