Gary's Story

Meet Gary – The Man, The Myth, The Cat

When rescuers found Gary, he was being held captive in a crate inside a severe hoarding situation. He had spent his entire kittenhood trapped — never getting the chance to stretch his legs, play, or explore the world beyond those bars.

That day, captured in the photos above, was the first step toward freedom. And ever since, Gary has been making up for lost time.

Now about a year and a half old, Gary is living every moment like it’s his first taste of sunshine. His foster mom describes him as the king of love nips, a professional chaos creator, and a cat with endless energy. If there’s something to bump into, Gary is probably already on it. And who can blame him? After spending years not knowing there was a big world out there to explore, he’s determined to see (and occasionally knock over) every inch of it.

Despite everything he’s been through, Gary is affectionate, curious, and full of heart. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccinations, FeLV/FIV negative, and ready to find a forever home that lets him just be himself — goofy, playful, and wonderfully full of life.

Gary is, quite simply, the man.

Important Adoption Information:

When You Submit Your Application:
Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you don’t currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.

For Pets Already in the Home:
Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone — both new and existing family members — stays healthy and safe.

Keep in Mind:
We are 100% foster-based and 100% volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us — but if you don’t hear back within a few days, feel free to message us on our Facebook page to confirm your application went through.
