Gandalf's Story
Remember Gandalf from our annual newsletter? Well, he is officially available for adoption! Special Note: We will be hand selecting the best applicant to adopt Gandalf as he needs a special home due to having only three legs and may need additional vet care as he continues to age.

Gandalf is the story of hardships and overcoming obstacles as a senior cat. He was brought into our care by a family who had been providing for him after he showed up to their home as a stray. In a turn of unfortunate events, the family was displaced from a house fire. However, they knew that the one thing they wanted to save was Gandalf; he was in horrible condition. They helped with a portion of his medical care, and continues to check in on his progress.

Gandalf is very lucky to have gotten to us when he did. Our cat coordinators and vet team discovered that he had infection and was going septic. To save Gandalf's life, his front leg needed amputation. Surgery was successful, and he was on his road to recovery.

Gandalf is healed and thriving in his current foster home. He has even taken on a new role as "foster dad" to a few kittens, and loves to help with bath time and snuggling. We would recommend a home with no dogs, unless they have been raised around indoor cats and have low energy, as he cannot get away as quickly and easily as other kitties. Another consideration is having older, respectful children in the home since he is a senior cat at 11 years old.
