Galaxy's Story

Meet Galaxy, a 5-month-old kitten looking for a patient person to help her discover that people can be pretty great! Galaxy grew up in a barn with other cats and was friendly, playful, and cuddly with the people she knew. Shelter life has been a big change, and she's currently feeling shy and unsure around new people.<br/><br/>Galaxy will need time, patience, and plenty of positive experiences to build her confidence. Food can be a great way to help her learn that good things come from her new humans, along with quiet daily interactions at her own pace. We don't yet know how social she will become in a home, but with patience and consistency, she deserves the chance to find out!<br/><br/>Galaxy is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. Capital Area Humane Society's Adoption Policy

The purpose of our adoption criteria is to ensure a consistent, fair process and to provide every potential adopter with an equal opportunity to welcome a new pet into their home. All animals are adopted to individuals who agree to follow the guidelines outlined in the adoption contract. Adopters must be at least 18 years of age and are required to complete an adoption questionnaire, as well as provide valid identification and proof of current residence. Pets are placed in homes where they will be cared for primarily as indoor companions, and adopters must commit to providing lifelong care, including proper food, water, shelter, and regular exercise. Animals may be adopted as gifts in accordance with our gift adoption policy. Additionally, to ensure the safety and well-being of our animals, we do not proceed with adoptions to individuals who appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
