Gaia26F's Story
The first thing to know about Gaia is that she is very, very good at joy. π§‘πΎ

Hand her a string toy and she comes alive. Flick on a laser and she's a blur of orange and white across the room. She'll chase a ball tracker until it gives up first, roll in catnip like she just won the lottery π, and wrestle a feline friend with total, gleeful abandon. She does all of this with one eye, and it's never slowed her down -- she judges distance fine, catches what she's after, and gives the whole thing a look that's 100% her own signature move. π»

The second thing to know is that Gaia chooses to be near her people, always. She's great with both men and women, though she does seem to have a soft spot for the men -- something about a deep voice or a calm presence wins her over that much faster. π She'll settle in beside you on the bed, supervise you while you cook (quality control is important π³), and watch you put on your shoes with pure intrigue. π She wants to be in on your day, and she is deeply, unapologetically food motivated -- a Churu or a tossed treat gets you her complete and undivided attention, instantly. π

Gaia is still learning that hands mean love. She'd rather come to you than be reached for, picking a spot a few feet away and settling in there like she's chosen the best seat in the house -- which, to her, is next to you. ποΈ That closeness is her affection, offered on her own terms. The right person for Gaia is someone with a soft heart and endless patience, who understands that her fear of hands isn't a "no," just a "not yet" -- and who will love her fully while she takes her time getting there. β³

She finds her confidence and is at her best living with another cat ππββ¬ -- sleeping curled up together or playing chase until they're both wiped out!

Gaia hasn't been around children, but would likely do well with older, respectful kids who know how to give a cat her space. A quiet, dog-free home is her happy place. π‘π«πΆ

Gaia is available through our Foster-to-Adopt program, where a well-suited, approved adopter can bring her home and let her settle in on a trial basis, with the option to make it official once you both know it's the right match. π

π© Contact us if you're interested in meeting Gaia or learning more about foster-to-adopt!For more information or to apply to adopt, please go to: https://www.purrpartners.org/adopt/
