Furlough's Story

Please read through the entire posting and requirements before applying via our questionnaire at https://alleycatproject.org/adopt
Please do not submit an inquiry via Petfinder.

Meet Furlough, a sweet black-and-white tuxedo tom who is ready to end his temporary leave and get to work as your furry companion! While his exact age is unknown, he’s estimated to be about 1 year old (as of February 2026).

Most cats are motivated by toys or treats, but the way to Furlough’s heart is not through Churus or catnip—more than anything, he just wants a scritch on the cheek! He may be shy and skittish at first (he actually got his name because he was so “shut down” when he was brought to ACP, just a completely immovable, frightened little lump), but with a little patience and a lot of love, he starts to show his affectionate side, and Furlough transforms into snuggle-boy Purrlough.

Still just a baby with lots of energy, Furlough loves to bat around crinkly toys, run through tunnels, and (gently) play fight with his humans. If you’re looking for a cat that’s both goofy and sweet, Furlough might be your guy!

What Furlough’s looking for in a home:

- He’s new to indoor life with humans, so he needs a kind and patient guide to help him continue adjusting.
