She is approximately 1 year old. <br/><br/>Freddie, along with her siblings Kurt and Gitta, was found in a home crawlspace before coming into foster care. While shes still a little cautious around new people and unfamiliar situations, shes much more social than her siblings and has embraced indoor life with enthusiasm. She is able to be handled and while she doesnt care for her kennel, she is currently being trained to be desensitized to it.<br/><br/>Freddie is curious and affectionate, and once she feels comfortable, shes happy to soak up attention, accept pets, and curl up nearby. She can still be a little skittish with sudden movements or loud noises (such is a cat!), but her confidence continues to grow every day.<br/><br/>One of Freddie's favorite things is the company of other animals. She absolutely loves the resident cats in her foster home and gets along wonderfully with the resident dog. She would likely thrive in a home with another friendly cat and could do well with a respectful dog after slow introductions.<br/><br/>Freddie has overcome a challenge early in life. She was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which went underdiagnosed for a period of time before the right treatment plan was found. Her fur was splotchy, uneven and greasy. Her body composition was thin and frail. Today, shes doing incredibly well. Shell need to remain on a special diet and continue routine veterinary care to keep her feeling her best, but shes happy, active, and enjoys life just like any other young cat. Because of her medical needs (which could decrease or increase over time), her adopter must be prepared for the potential expense.<br/><br/>Freddie is very petite, weighing just over 6 pounds almost fully grown. Dont let her size fool you—shes full of energy, loves to play, and has plenty of personality packed into her tiny frame.<br/><br/>What she is looking for in a home:<br/><br/> - She can get nervous, so she needs a kind and patient guide to help her feel comfortable with new experiences. <br/> - She will need extra time and TLC to build trust.<br/> - She needs an already established resident feline friend close to her age to play with and model good cat manners.<br/> - She has a fair amount of energy and will benefit from plenty of active play time.<br/> - She feels at ease in a quiet and calm environment.<br/> - She needs to live indoors only.<br/> - She has a positive history with other cats. Slow introductions are a must.<br/> - She has a positive history with dogs, but requires slow introductions with a cat-savvy dog. <br/> - She has limited history with children and it is advised that she needs an adult-only home (respectful tweens would be OK).<br/><br/>All Alley Cat Projects cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.<br/><br/>Alley Cat Project adoption fees are:<br/><br/> - $200 per cat or kitten<br/> - $350 for pair of cats or kittens<br/> - $50 for senior cat (over 8 years old)<br/> - Flexible reduced fees for a cat with a chronic medical condition that requires ongoing care<br/> - Additional charitable donations are appreciated and support our overall rescue efforts<br/><br/>Thank you for your interest in Freddie!
