Frannie's Story

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER. WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE: To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in.

Apply to adopt with our online cat application: https://fs17.formsite.com/waverlypetrescue/form4/index.html

Please go to our web-site to learn more about Waverly Pet Rescue: www.waverlypetrescue.com

Frances was a Waverly stray we took in back in November 2023. Her foster mom called her by her nickname of Frannie. We planned to fully vet her and place onto a nice farm along with 5 other cats we took in from the same colony at the same time. But Frannie had severe upper respiratory issues. If they tried to spay her, she would not have been able to breathe and survive it. She stayed at the vet for 2 months trying to get better. She was contagious to other cats so we finally placed her in a dog only foster home and she thrived there. Thank you to that foster home for helping Frannie get better! Once she got better, she went back to the vet for her spay and now is living in a cat foster home. She is up to date on shots, spayed, and tested FeLV / FIV negative.

Frannie is about 1-1/2 years old as of June 2025. Life on the streets was hard on her and she would not have survived the winter. Only with medication and an inside home did she get better. We decided to not put her on a farm since she is still a kitten and now used to living in a home. She is also not as feral as the 4 adult cats were they she was living with. Frannie had human contact since birth with an elderly man that was feeding the colony. She is still a bit shy but coming out of her shell even more each day. Frannie is a good eater. She makes some happy singing noises when she eats. She will let you pet her and enjoys it. She does well with the other cats in her foster home. She also did well with the dogs when she was in the dog foster home.

Frannie would love someone willing to set her up in a room alone to start off. And then giving her time and love to settle in. This could take days or weeks or even more. A true cat lover of the shy ones would be perfect!

Frannie has a sister named Alice listed on here too if anyone would like to adopt 2 kittens. They are friendly to each other but not particularly bonded so would be absolutely ok in 2 good homes instead of getting adopted together.

11/3/24 UPDATE: Frannie went to a new foster home about 2 weeks ago. She settled in after only a couple of days! This is great news because it shows she has come out of her shell. She is able to trust and bond with cat loving humans and will do great once she gets adopted into a forever home! Foster home's dad and sister just stopped by to meet Frannie and Alice. And it only took Frannie about 30 minutes to warm up and then she was super sweet and interactive. Please give Frannie a chance and apply to adopt her today!

12/1/24 UPDATE: Have you ever met a cat who squeaks, no. Well, say hello to Frannie. Frannie has many attributes but the one you might notice first is her random squeaks. Frannie took a few days to come out of her shell but once she feels safe, she is a total lover with a passion for parkour and food. Frannie loves to jump off her cat tree into the cat tunnels which got her the nickname John Senia. Frannie is a highly food motived cat, this is a great combination with how active she is. My favorite moments with Frannie are after she has exhausted herself from parkour or has had her meal. She will lazily make her way to me and climb up onto my lap. If you get the special opportunity to have Frannie lay in your lap, you will notice her deep and adorable purr. Frannie is an energetic, food enthusiast but most importantly an extremely loving girl, she would bring so much fun and love to her forever home.

8/5/25 UPDATE: Meet Frannie, a fearless and self-assured feline with a heart full of love and a nose for adventure! Whether she's confidently strutting through new spaces or scaling the highest perch in the room, Frannie approaches life with bold curiosity and playful energy. She's not just an explorer—she's also incredibly affectionate, always ready to curl up beside you after a day of discovery. If you're looking for a brave, loving companion who will bring excitement and warmth into your life, Frannie is ready to make your home her next great adventure. Frannie has so much spirit and affection to give, and she truly deserves a home where she can be both the bold explorer and the beloved companion she was meant to be.

Frannie's adoption fee is $95.00.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
