FOREST's Story

FOREST is an “awwwdorable” BLACK BRITISH LONGHAIR with golden eyes. He is 2 years old, neutered, has his claws, is up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and FIV/FeLV negative. He weighs a little over 8 lbs.

Forest was surrendered to our organization after his previous owner noticed that he was bullying her female cat. She had been told that he was cat friendly, but that proved not to be the case. His foster mom also noticed that he has a domineering personality towards her own kitties and agrees that he would do best as an only feline in his new home.

Forest came in with a couple of health issues that needed to be addressed and have now been resolved. We decided to have him shaved, and therefore included pictures in his bio that shows his full and lovely coat before he was shaved. He also needed a dental and had to have several teeth removed, which our organization took care of. He will need a home that is committed to providing him with regular dental checkups and care, and he is now ready for his permanent home.

Forest’s foster mom has fallen deeply in love with this precious kitty angel. Aside from his adorable face, he possesses the typical characteristics of the British Shorthair breed. He is a gentle and calm boy. He is affectionate, but not too needy. When he hears his foster mom, he runs over to greet her and wants to be close to where she is. He allows his foster mom to pick him up so she can bestow a couple of smooches on his sweet face, and before he got shaved, a gentle brushing was rewarded with some purrs.

He makes a wonderful snuggle companion when his foster mom is watching TV, reading, or is taking a little siesta. While he is not a super super active boy, he does enjoy interacting with the mink wand toy or DaBird when his foster mom swirls it around for him to catch, and occasionally he gets all excited by batting springs, small balls, or a catnip toy around. He also enjoys watching some Cat TV on his own.

His foster parents don't have dogs, but could envision that a dog who loves his cat buddies could actually work well for him. We haven’t tested him with children, but given how comfortable he is around his foster parents, we think that cat savvy children will be fine for him.

Forest prefers wet food so preference will be given to a home that understands the benefit of it. He is using his litter box perfectly. Whoever will be the lucky adopter of this little gem, please be prepared to pry him out of foster mom’s arms on the day of the adoption as she is extremely fond of him.

To apply for Forest, please fill out an adoption application on our SPCR website:

https://purebredcatrescue.org/adoption-application-form/

ADOPTION FEE $300.
