Flora's Story
Meet Flora & Freckles!!

Flora and Freckles have officially been in our care for one full year, and somehow these two incredible siblings are still waiting for the home they deserve. Though shy at first, they are gentle, sweet, and deeply bonded—and adopters who welcome cats like them are rewarded with a uniquely loving connection.

Despite everything they’ve been through, they’ve remained resilient. Over the past year, they have lived with five different fosters, each helping them grow and trust again. They’ve adapted beautifully, but now they’re ready for what they’ve never had:
a stable, forever home where they can finally put down roots.

Flora — The Delicate Flower

Flora is gentle, observant, and quietly affectionate. She’s shy initially, but with a little patience—and a Churu—she blossoms into the sweetest companion. Once comfortable, she flops onto the floor and nudges your hand for more pets, soaking up all the affection she can.

Her love language (in order):
Churu
Cuddles
Playtime

With her brother by her side, Flora feels safe enough to show her soft and loving nature.

Freckles — The playful heart of the duo

Freckles is the energetic, fun-loving sibling—the athletic one who zooms around the room, chases toys, and brings endless smiles. He may be shy in new places, but his love for play (and for Flora) helps him warm up little by little.
Once he trusts you, his softer and loving personality shines through. Treats definitely help (especially dry freeze chicken!).

Their Rescue Story:

Flora and Freckles were born in an unsanitary public restroom in downtown San Jose. When a local shelter labeled them “too shy” for adoption and released them back outside, they were still just babies—vulnerable and unsure.

That’s when we stepped in.

After months of socialization and patience, they blossomed into affectionate, joyful, resilient young cats. They’ve come such a long way and they’ve done it while moving multiple times between fosters, each time learning to trust again.

They’re more than ready for stability, safety, and a forever home together.

Why bonded shy cats deserve a chance:

Shy cats are often overlooked. Bonded pairs even more so.
But adopters who open their hearts to them are rewarded with a deep, loyal, meaningful connection that grows stronger with time.

Flora and Freckles:
Support each other emotionally
Adjust faster together than alone
Bring peace, routine, and soft companionship into a home
Have proven they can adapt to multiple environments
Deserve a stable home after so much transition

They don’t demand much—just love, patience, and a quiet place to belong.

Ideal home:

Calm and patient household
Indoor-only
Willingness to give them time and space to feel safe and confident
