On April 12, 2026 a very ill lilac point Siamese kitten was brought to Northwood Animal Hospital on emergency. She had been found at Railroad Square. <br/><br/>She was so little, only weighing 222 grams upon arrival. <br/><br/>We gave her an estimated DOB of 3-15-26. And named her Flora. <br/><br/>Both her eyes were so infected they were crusted shut with pus. We weren't sure we could save the right eye as it was so badly infected. Medical treatment eventually healed the eye infections, but the eyelid of the right eye had adhered to the eyeball itself, causing permanent deformity of the upper eyelid. <br/><br/>Her eyes are so much better though. <br/><br/>Flora has struggled with illnesses while in CARE. She developed severe ringworm that was treated. She then had recurrent issues with fevers and diarrhea. She was put on medication for FIP called BOVA in hopes that would heal her. <br/><br/>She was never specifically diagnosed with FIP, but she has responded well to treatment. <br/><br/>She was finally well enough to under go surgery to be spayed. She has completed her kitten vaccines. <br/><br/>Her right eyelid is a little wonky but doesnt seem to bother her. If in time the eye does cause chronic issues, CARE will arrange to have the eye removed.
