Before Flamme trusted people, she trusted only herself.<br/><br/>She came into foster care from a Fairbury TNR project with five tiny kittens depending on her while she herself was painfully thin and battling a severe upper respiratory infection. She wasn't producing enough milk for all of her babies, so the smallest kittens needed supplemental feedings while she worked just as hard as they did to recover.<br/><br/>At first, Flamme made it very clear that humans were not on her list of favorite things. But good meals, temperature controlled comfort, medicine, help raising her babies, and most importantly an endless supply of Churu, slowly changed her mind.<br/><br/>Today, she's become a completely different cat.<br/><br/>The moment her foster mom walks into the room, Flamme starts purring. She enjoys being close to her person, leaning into ear scratches and long pets down her back. While she'll happily tolerate being held, she'd much rather sit beside you, quietly soaking up affection.<br/><br/>Originally, the plan was for Flamme to be returned outdoors once her kittens were grown because she simply wasn't friendly enough for adoption. Instead, she showed everyone who she really was once she finally had the chance to feel safe.<br/><br/>Now that her motherhood days are behind her, Flamme is more than ready to retire from chasing a parade of wild kittens and begin the life she truly deserves, a spoiled indoor house cat where someone can love her as much as she loved her babies.<br/><br/>Flamme did well living alongside other cats on the farm she came from, so we think she would happily share her home with feline companions. She has had limited exposure to dogs, so slow, proper introductions would be important. She would also do well with respectful children who understand that she enjoys affection but also appreciates having her own space.<br/><br/>Flamme is spayed, microchipped, current on her FVRCP and rabies vaccines, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, dewormed, on flea and tick prevention, and has excellent litter box manners.
