FIV-Positive Kittens's Story

I mean, come on! Look at these adorable babies! Both of these female kittens are 2 months old and are ready to adopted. Easy, right?

Well, both have tested positive for FiV. They could be testing positive because of antibodies from their mother and may not actually be infected with the virus. A retest after 6-months would be more definitive.

Even with FIV, which can weaken their immune system over time, many cats live long, fun-filled lives. But often kittens and cats are not adopted because people are afraid or do not understand how the virus is spread.

FIV cannot be transmitted to people or other non-feline animals and cannot spread through casual contact between cats. Talk to your vet if you have questions or concerns.

Don't leave these two cuties hanging! They deserve a loving home, just like any other cat. They do not have to be adopted together!

We do NOT respond to PetFinder inquires; we only respond to emails sent to adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org regarding adoption inquires.

We never know how quickly a pet will be adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in a pet but want to see them during our shelter open hours prior to filling out an application, we strongly recommend that you email us at adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org before visiting the shelter to ensure they are still there.

Open hours are Wednesdays 1:30-6pm, and Saturdays and Sundays 10am-2pm for you to come view our adoptable pets. You can apply for animal at the shelter during our open hours or online by emailing adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org and asking for an application. We do not operate on a first come, first served basis.
