Fitzgerald's Story

Fitzgerald is a four year old fully vetted cat who has made an incredible recovery. He came to us in very poor condition after a workplace found him struggling and pooled their money to have him humanely euthanized because they believed he was too sick to save. Thankfully, we were able to step in, treat him, and give him the chance he deserved. He has healed beautifully and is now ready for a home.

Fitzgerald has clearly not been used to being handled during his life. He spent his time as a full time outdoor cat, and he can be unsure at first. With patience, he does warm up and has shown that he enjoys gentle attention. He loves a churu stick and, once he trusts you, he will happily curl up in a lap. Fitzgerald would make a good mouser and could be an excellent working cat for someone who also wants a companion on his terms.

We are open to placing him now if someone can offer a weather appropriate outdoor home for the winter and commit to feeding him and providing proper shelter. If not, he can remain with us until the weather warms up and it is safe for him to transition. While we normally prefer indoor placements, Fitzgerald has spent his entire life outdoors and would do well in a safe outdoor or barn home where he is cared for responsibly. He may also adjust to a quiet indoor or indoor and outdoor home over time with the right person.

Fitzgerald's story means a lot to us because we have seen how far he has come. He is a handsome and resilient cat who deserves a kind and patient home where he can feel secure.

If you can offer Fitzgerald a safe and caring place to continue his journey, please reach out to us.
