Meet Finnegan

Finn (aka Finnegan) is an approximately 1-year-old (as of 7/2022) male tri-pawed kitten. Finn was found as a kitten injured in the road. He had a back fracture at L7 and an injured rear leg. He was paralyzed from the back fracture down and unable to move his rear legs. Finn was too young for surgery so he was allowed to heal naturally. His back healed well and he regained movement in his rear legs. Unfortunately, his right rear leg was full of scar tissue from his injuries and despite physical therapy and surgery, he was unable to regain use of it. His right rear leg was removed as it was hindering his mobility.

Finn has completely healed from his surgery and is mobile and actually quite fast. In fact, his nickname is Scooter because of how easily he gets around - and because he often scoots around! Finn is bold, playful, and very loving. He is not hampered by his disability and is actually quite active.

Finn might have some special needs but he is now ready for his forever home. He will need someone with patience, and who is willing to continue to work with him on therapy so he can walk using his hind leg. For now, he is content to scoot around using his two front legs. Due to atrophy, his rear leg is weak and he has trouble balancing so he gives up and starts to scoot. His fosters work with him every day to try and strengthen his rear leg and he will continue to need this work as he is stubborn and likes to take the easy way out (Finn hates therapy, he'd rather play). Finn can use the litter box but needs a low box so he can get in and out. Finn has been fine with other cats and enjoys playing with him. He was exposed to a younger dog during another foster meet and greet and he held his own; sitting in the hall and giving the dog a piece of his mind and not letting her pass.

Finn is very loving and sits with his foster all day while they work from home. He is a purr bucket and loves people but really loves to play and makes it a game to try and catch him. He likes laser toys, springs, and string toys. Finn has been in foster care for a while letting his injuries heal and regaining his mobility. He is now ready for his forever home and someone willing to take on his challenges, but also be filled with his joy, spirit, and love.
