Finn's Story

Finn (affectionately nicknamed Mr. Finnegan) is a handsome 16-month-old light gray tabby who came to CAWL in early February 2026. He’s sometimes wary of people approaching him, but he will chill alongside you or come up to you for pets on his terms.<br/><br/>Why we love Finn:<br/> His gray tabby stripes and green eyes make him very handsome.<br/> Friendly and just a little shy. The more he gets to know his human caretakers, the more he continues to let his guard down around us. (Finn knows that all good things take time).<br/> He gets along great with the other cats in his room (both male and female). <br/><br/>We cannot believe Finn has been here over seven months already. Our shy guys tend to get overlooked, but we know Finn is a true<br/>gem who will win the right human's heart.

Calvert Animal Welfare League - CAWL's Adoption Policy
THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING AND SAVING A LIFE! We are accepting applications by email and in person at our adoption center. We are only open to the public on Saturdays from 11-3, otherwise by appointment. As much as we like to personally meet all of our applicants prior to filling out an application, we are asking that you give us as much information about you, your family, and other pets so that we can make the best match. We will then set up a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in as well as give us the opportunity to meet you and your family. All of our animals are placed in the best fit home for them, never on a first come first serve basis. Completion of an application does not guarantee approval for that particular animal. We reserve the right to approve or deny any application based on the animal’s needs. Our adoption process includes a home visit. *note: In certain circumstances and in lieu of a home visit, we will ask for specific pictures of your home. You will be contacted if you have been selected to complete the adoption process.
