Finch's Story

Six Little Birds Ready to Fly Home
This sweet litter of six kittens — four girls and two boys — had a heartbreaking start to life. They were found huddled together in a leaf pile behind a house, clinging to one another for warmth as a brutal cold snap rolled in, with temperatures expected to drop to 19 degrees overnight. Their mama was doing everything she could to keep them safe, but the odds were stacked against them.
The homeowner didn’t want anything to do with the kittens, but thankfully a kind neighbor refused to look the other way and reached out for help. A rescue partner contacted us, and without hesitation, we said yes.
When these babies arrived, they were very underweight and absolutely terrified, which is sadly what we expect from kittens who have only known the outdoors. Despite their rough beginning, they were overall healthy, and with good food, warmth, and patience, they’ve completely transformed. Their feral mama was humanely trapped, spayed, and returned, ensuring no more litters would face the same danger.
Today, these once-frightened kittens are happy, thriving, and full of playful energy. They adore each other, wrestle endlessly, and have blossomed into curious, joyful little souls. They’re still learning that being picked up is safe and okay, but they’re very comfortable playing with people and being close by — trust is coming more and more each day.
Because of their strong bond and for their emotional well-being, they must be adopted in pairs, which is also our rescue’s policy. These kittens have always had each other to rely on, and they deserve to grow up together in loving homes.
If you’re ready to open your heart and home to two inseparable best friends, this resilient little leaf-pile family is ready to write their next chapter with you. 💛🐱🐱
The group: Chickadee, Robin, Dove, Wren, Jay, Finch
