Fern is a friendly, people loving girl who has an easygoing approach to life. Born June 22, 2022, she has spent the past two-plus months in foster care and has taken every new person, animal, and environment in stride.<br/><br/>Wherever her humans go, Fern is likely to follow. She’s a wonderful little shadow and enjoys being part of the action without demanding attention. She also welcomes visitors rather than hiding away. During a recent weekend with young children, she calmly let them pet and play with her and was wonderful with all the activity. <br/><br/>Fern has also hit it off with the resident cat, following her around like a little sister. The two enjoy chasing each other through the house, and Fern is always ready for a game with a wand toy or laser. She'll even entertain herself with a few enthusiastic laps around the house.<br/><br/>Despite her playful side, Fern has an exceptionally gentle nature. Her foster family hasn't experienced a single bite or scratch from her, including during energetic play.<br/><br/>She's not interested in being carried around and will squirm free if picked up, but she has a sweet way of showing affection. At bedtime, she curls up alongside her people and waits quietly until morning. Once she hears you wake, she'll come over looking for pets. And if you accidentally disturb her sleep, she'll respond with the tiniest, softest meow.<br/><br/>Fern is a polite roommate, too. She eats wet and dry food without fuss, has no interest in human food, and has never jumped onto the counters or table. Her long coat requires regular brushing, which she tolerates well.
