FENRIR's Story
Meet Fenrir, a gentle giant of a fluffy black cat! Fenrir came into the Shelter with two buds Frankie & Nagini, after their previous guardian had a baby who was allergic to the cats. Although all three cats lived together, they are not required to be adopted together in their next home. Their previous guardian reports that Fenrir lived with a newborn, 3 year old and 5 year old child and did well with them. Fenrir is a bit younger and the most outgoing of the trio. Our veterinary team has done an examination on Fenrir and have observed that he does have some moderate dental calculus and is overweight. With these conditions and being an older cat, Fenrir would thrive with an adopter who will establish a relationship with a veterinarian shortly after adoption and be willing to take him in for more frequent health checks to keep him staying comfortable as he ages. Fenrir’s adoption fee is reduced by $40 - $20 for the Bogey Fund (a fund that draws adopter’s eyes towards often overlooked black cats in the Shelter) and $20 for Shelley’s Angels (a fund that draws adopter’s eyes towards senior cats in the Shelter looking for a retirement home). Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
