WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE ADOPTING
Adopting a pet is a long-term commitment. Dogs live 8-12 or more years and, cats can live an average of 15-20 years. While owning a pet, you may change jobs, move, get married or divorced, or have children. Please make every attempt not to let one of these events cause you to abandon or give away a pet. Pets become extremely attached to their owners and deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. Avoid hurting and causing undue stress to a helpless animal. Before you adopt, please seriously consider the long-term commitment involved.
THE ADOPTION PROCESS:
Step 1: Submit an online adoption application form (please find the link above), which will be reviewed for pre-approval.
Step 2: The Shelter Manager will contact you to set an appointment to meet a pet.
Step 3: If you decide to move forward with an adoption, you’ll be advised on the next steps.
