Fawn Moscato - Purrmanent Resident's Story

🐾 Purr-manent Residents

At our free-roaming facility, we have a select group of kitties lovingly known as our Purr-manent Residents (catchy, right?). These cats are delightful and dashing in their own unique ways but are considered unadoptable. As such, they are granted the luxury of living out their lives with us—surrounded by love, exceptional care, and absolutely no time constraints or expectations.
There are many reasons a cat may earn PR status: terminal illness, feral nature, behavioral challenges, or perhaps a strongly misunderstood personality. We create bios for our PR kitties for two very important reasons:

1. Every cat deserves to have their story told.
2. These cats are deeply endearing, endlessly charming, and a huge part of who we are and what we do—so we feel compelled to share them with you.
We’re highlighting four of our most fabulous felines so that when you visit, you can seek them out for a belly rub, a chin scratch, or just to say hello 😊. You’ll quickly see just how integral each of these furballs is to our rescue mission.
________________________________________
🌸 Fawn Moscato
Our featured femme fatale
Fawn Moscato is the epitome of a drunk college girl: ebullient, outgoing, a bit sloppy, and perpetually teetering on imaginary high heels while trying to sashay her way through life in a tight mini-dress.

Born in the spring of 2017, Fawn has Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), a neurological birth defect that causes hypermetric movement and ataxia. In layman’s terms? She totters, teeters, hugs walls, and falls with minimal grace—but she always pops right back up and keeps on going. We swear she’s part Super Ball: she bounces back like a snappy rubber band and is immediately off on her next adventure without looking back.

Despite appearances, Fawn’s PR status has nothing to do with her CH. Her condition doesn’t faze her in the slightest and has never slowed her down. Instead, she’ll be staying with us for the long haul due to… her bathroom habits.
In a controlled environment with dozens of litter boxes and thrice-daily scooping, Fawn is the Mistress of Manners. In a home setting? She is a delightful little menace. She lived with my husband and me for several years, and we tried everything to make it work—but this sweet stinker would look us dead in the eye, void on the floor, and scurry away like the furry toddler she is.

After spending considerable time at the shelter, a devoted volunteer really wanted to give Fawn another shot at home life. With ample warnings and all the right supplies, Fawn was given her chance… which she promptly squandered by refusing the litter box and targeting the floor instead. Carpet, tile, hardwood—it makes no difference. She is not picky about where she piddles.
Here, however, within these four walls, Fawn thrives.

Fawn Moscato is a happy, goofy girl adored by everyone. Volunteers flock to her during their shifts, and visitors are instantly drawn to her magnetic personality. She loves the limelight, struts her stuff daily, and behaves beautifully in the environment that suits her best.

Our rescue may not be a typical home—but it is her home, and she is absolutely flourishing here.
