Faith’s FAQs

What is Cheboygan County Humane Society’s adoption process?

We do not hold animals for adopters this is a first come first serve facility. (The only animals that are held are those that are strays looking for their owners or animals that are not yet fixed but have already been adopted.) We do want to find the best home for each animal so that they do not come back. We do have a questioner that we ask be filled out before adoption and do require vet checks. (http://www.cheboyganhumanesociety.org/wp-content/media/CCHS-Adoption-Questionnaire.pdf) Questionnaires can be filled out before you come out. If you rent we do need something from your landlord stating that you can have the pet in your home. This can be part of your lease or some kind of conformation from your landlord. It normally takes 30 minutes or more for the adoption process.
