Fairy's Story

Sweet, shy Fairy is looking for a quiet home to call her own. Fairy is reserved, yet loving and will accept gentle pets. The shelter is a scary, stressful place for a girl like her and we would love to see her in a quiet, patient home who will allow her to acclimate and blossom into the girl we know she can be.

Fairy is FIV positive. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is a virus that can weaken a cat’s immune system. The disease is not contagious to humans or dogs, and it does not require any medication. She does not require any “special” care and would only need a nutritious diet and regular wellness visits like any other cat. FIV positive cats and FIV negative cats can live together IF the cats are friendly and introduced properly. Staff are happy to discuss FIV further with any potential adopters.

Fairy is looking for a patient, understanding person who will set her up to succeed by slowly acclimating her to her new home. Shelter staff are happy to discuss acclimation more with potential adopters.

Fairy is estimated to be 2-3 years old. She is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. She tested negative for FeLV.

Please contact staff at (401) 294-2754 or email animalshelter@exeterri.gov for more information on our adoption process.
